How Invoice Automation Transformed Zipps Liquor Operations
Results by the Numbers
The Story
How Fintech Helped Zipps Liquor
The Challenge
Zipps Liquor, a family-owned business with 41 locations in Texas, faced significant challenges in managing invoice payments and inventory. Zipps also wholesale distributes alcohol from 12 locations to other local retailers. The manual processes of ordering, accounting, and store management were bottlenecking out of the main office in Montgomery County. Store managers would upload invoices to Google Drive for manual review and approval, leading to frequent errors and delays if an invoice were missed. Additionally, sending checks for invoice payments via mail resulted in security issues with multiple attempted check forgeries in 2023.
The Fintech Solution
To address these issues, Zipps Liquor adopted Fintech for electronic funds transfer (EFT) alcohol invoice payments. This solution automated its accounts payable (AP) functions for alcohol purchases and accounts receivable (AR) functions for its local distribution. Fintech provided standardized invoice data integration, reducing manual entry errors and saving time. Whereas invoice data uploading used to take hours, Fintech optimized the process to minutes per location. The system also offered 15 months of rolling invoice history and detailed reporting insights, aiding inventory management and sales strategies.
Conclusion
The implementation of Fintech transformed Zipps Liquor’s operations. Automated invoice processing minimized human error and enhanced record-keeping efficiency. The electronic payment system improved security by eliminating the need for paper checks. Overall, Fintech enabled Zipps Liquor to streamline its processes, focus on customer service, and achieve more accurate bookkeeping.
What Our Partners Say
“If we need to have a sale on a SKU that isn’t moving, or increase stock levels at certain locations, Fintech insights are very helpful. For upper management, they can easily see what items are more relevant to certain areas.”
